Instructions:
-
Make the dough:
In a large bowl, mix the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center, then add warm milk, melted butter, and egg. Stir everything together until a dough begins to form.Advertisement: -
Knead the dough:
Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, but be careful not to add too much. -
Let it rise:
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a clean towel or plastic wrap. Let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size. -
Shape the buns:
After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 8–10 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a smooth ball. -
Cook in a pan:
Heat a non-stick skillet or frying pan over low to medium heat. Lightly grease it with a bit of butter or oil. Place the dough balls in the pan, spacing them out slightly. Cover the pan with a lid or foil, and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and puffed. You may need to cook in batches, depending on the size of your pan.Advertisement: -
Serve:
Let the buns cool slightly before serving. They’re perfect on their own, or as a side with curries, stews, or as burger buns.
