Processed meats: a well-hidden danger
Crispy bacon, sausage, hot dogs… These products are often appreciated for their taste, but they present a worrying risk. Nitrites and nitrates, used to preserve and color these meats, can transform into carcinogenic compounds when cooked at high temperatures. The World Health Organization (WHO) also classifies processed meats as proven carcinogens. It is preferable to opt for fresh meats and use natural spices for preservation.
