Just like geranium, pennyroyal will repel flies, fleas, mosquitoes and ants. Although toxic to humans, this plant will forever rid you of the intrusive presence of flies.
Baking soda:
Easy to prepare and odorless, baking soda seems to be the quickest way to keep flies away. Mix one tablespoon of this ingredient in 3 cups of hot water and spray the liquid on windows and doors for immediate action against flies.
Cloves:
Terrible against insects, cloves were often recommended by our grandmothers. Cut an onion, a lemon and an orange in half and stick cloves in each half on the flesh side. Place them on window sills and other strategic locations, repeating the operation every day for greater efficiency.
White vinegar:
White vinegar, renowned for its domestic virtues, is an excellent way to repel flies unlike cider vinegar which attracts them. Spray white vinegar with eucalyptus oil on window sills or place it in dishes inside the house for effective action thanks to its strong odor.
