How to Clean Exterior Headlights?
Here are some simple methods to restore the shine to your car’s exterior headlights:
1. White Vinegar and Baking Soda
Ingredients :
2 parts white vinegar
1 part baking soda
Microfiber
Instructions :
Mix white vinegar and baking soda in a bowl.
Soak a microfiber cloth with the mixture.
Gently rub the headlights to remove dirt.
Rinse with clean water and let dry.
If necessary, repeat the operation.
Tip : If your headlights are very dirty, don’t hesitate to repeat the operation several times.
2. Lemon Juice
Ingredients :
1 lemon
Instructions :
Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
Apply the juice to a clean cloth.
Rub the headlights until the dirt disappears.
Wipe off residue with a damp cloth.
Lemon juice contains citric acid which helps dissolve mineral deposits and other dirt.
3. Toothpaste
Ingredients :
Toothpaste (paste, not gel)
Painter’s tape (optional)
Instructions :
Start by cleaning the headlights with car soap, then dry them.
Use tape to protect the area around the headlights if necessary.
Apply a small amount of toothpaste to a damp cloth.
Rub the headlights vigorously.
Rinse with water and let dry.
The microscopic particles in toothpaste act as a mild abrasive, polishing headlights and removing tarnish.
