6 Reasons Why Your Feet Are Cold (Page 3 ) | May 18, 2025

When should you consider a health concern?

If this cold becomes  permanent  or is accompanied by other signs such as very pale skin, numbness, or unusual fatigue, it’s best to seek medical help. Certain pathologies may be hidden behind these small signs:

  • Anemia  : less oxygen transported, more chills.
  • Raynaud’s syndrome  : the vessels constrict excessively in the cold or under stress.
  • Hypothyroidism  : Slowed metabolism leads to a persistent feeling of cold.
  • Diabetes  : circulatory problems are common.
  • Heart failure  : a slightly tired pump, and heat is scarce.

Our tips for warming up quickly and well

  • Gently massage your feet  to stimulate blood flow.
  • Drink a hot , good tea or herbal tea, and feel the warmth invade you.

Avoid hot radiators  : numb skin feels less pain, so be careful of burns.
No, alcohol doesn’t actually warm you up  —it just gives the illusion of warmth… before amplifying the cooling effect.

Keep an eye out, but don’t panic  : often, all it takes is a little movement or kindness to yourself to get your extremities nice and warm again.
