Why is it better to take a shower in the evening?

Dermatologists recommend spending 5 to 10 minutes a day in the shower. While some people can’t imagine starting their day without a morning shower, others prefer to wash away the stresses of the day by washing in the evening. And while shower timing is a matter of personal preference, those who choose to shower in the evening can actually reap health and beauty benefits.

1. It helps you fall asleep faster.
A nightly shower can not only relax your body and mind, but, if chosen correctly, can improve the quality of your sleep. Showering 90 minutes before bed with lukewarm water can help you fall asleep about 10 minutes faster than usual. This happens because warm water slightly lowers your body temperature, signaling to your body that it’s time to go to sleep.

2. Better for your skin.
Showering before bed can also help prevent acne. Our hair collects bacteria and product residue throughout the day, and when our heads hit the pillow, all of this debris is transferred to the pillowcase and then to our face. Because our skin regenerates overnight, going to bed with clean, fresh skin allows for the growth of new, healthy skin cells.
