Do you have this painful symptom, it’s the new COVID-19!

A new, highly contagious strain of COVID-19, codenamed “Nimbus,” is spreading rapidly in Europe and around the world, and doctors have explained the specific symptom that may indicate you are infected with it.

The variant, first discovered in January, is now leading the way in China and is responsible for a third of cases in the U.S. Experts say “Nimbus” has mutations that make it more transmissible than previous strains.

The main symptom: “A cutting pain in the throat”

The most distinctive symptom reported by infected patients is an unusually severe and  “cutting pain in the throat .” The inflammation is reportedly so severe that it leads to hoarseness in some people.

This symptom is distinct from the milder, more itchy pain characteristic of previous variants of the virus.
