St Helens Community Mourns Young Woman Lost in Tragic Collision
A family is grappling with an unimaginable loss following the death of 25-year-old Rebecca “Becky” Hall, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a serious car accident earlier this month.
Succumbing to her injuries
Rebecca was struck by a white Suzuki Vitara at approximately 5:35 p.m. on Monday, November 3, in St Helens, near Liverpool, England. Emergency services rushed her to Aintree Hospital, where she fought for her life. Despite the efforts of medical staff, she passed away two days later, on Wednesday, November 5.
In a deeply emotional tribute, Rebecca’s family described her as “the most beautiful soul inside and out,” and expressed profound grief at her passing.
“As a family we are devastated at the passing of a beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, girlfriend, and much-loved friend Rebecca (Becky),” the statement read.
“Becky was funny, kind, and cared for everyone—her family, her patients at the care home where she worked as a wellbeing coordinator, and every stray animal she could ever find.”
The family also expressed gratitude to the first responders who assisted at the scene.
“We want to thank the police family liaison officers, the nurses at Aintree ICU, who have been absolute angels at this most tragic of times, and the organ donation team. We would also like to thank those who stopped at the time of the accident and assisted both Becky and her loved ones.”
Remembering her selflessness
Rebecca’s family highlighted her generosity and compassion.
“Becky was the most selfless person that we know, and through that selflessness she has enabled many others to live on through her gift of life. Life will never be the same for the family, but we have been blessed to have had her in our lives.”
Merseyside Police confirmed that an investigation into the collision is ongoing. Detective Sergeant Simon Duffy said specialist officers are supporting Rebecca’s family and noted that the driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating fully.
“Our thoughts remain with her family as they continue to grieve this tragic loss. Family Liaison officers are supporting her family as we work towards being able to provide them with answers,” Duffy told the Liverpool Echo.
A grieving community
The St Helens community has rallied in remembrance of the young woman, sharing heartfelt tributes and condolences online. On the St Helens Star Facebook page, residents expressed sorrow and memories of Becky.
“I’m heartbroken. I have watched Becky grow over the years. She was such a beautiful girl with the biggest heart of gold. I will miss you. Thinking of all who knew her,” one user wrote.
Another added: “My heart goes out to the family, especially her mum and dad. I know what it’s like to lose a child—I lost my son in August, he was 53. Love to you all, may your beautiful daughter rest in peace.”
Friends who knew Rebecca personally also shared memories of her warmth and kindness. Chloe-Anne Bloor said:
“RIP Becky, gone way too young. I went to school with her and she was such a lovely girl.”
Megan Slater added:
“She was one in a million, just a kind-hearted person. My Jack will forever and always love you, Becky. Fly high.”

Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was driving in the area at the time to come forward. Investigators are particularly interested in dashcam footage that could shed light on the circumstances of the collision.
“The collision occurred on a busy stretch of road, and I appeal for the public’s help by contacting us if you have information which may assist the investigation. Even the smallest of details could prove vital,” Detective Sergeant Duffy said.
