What should have been the joyful beginning of a new life instead became a harrowing tale of death and betrayal in the quiet hills of Shillong, India. On May 20, businessman Raja Raghuvanshi arrived in the scenic city for his honeymoon with his new wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi. The couple had only recently exchanged vows, and the trip was meant to mark the peaceful start of their future together. But within days, the dream collapsed. Raja was found dead in a remote canyon, his body already decomposing. His personal belongings had disappeared, his identification stripped from him, his wedding ring missing. A promising life had come to a brutal and bewildering end.

At first, suspicion centered on Raj Kushwaha, believed to be Sonam’s secret lover. His past relationship with Sonam and the suspicious timing of events made him an obvious suspect. But as investigators examined hotel logs, combed through call records, and interviewed witnesses, a far more disturbing truth began to surface. What they uncovered stunned not only the police but also the entire nation: according to authorities, the mastermind behind the killing was not an outsider. It was Raja’s own wife.

Investigators now believe Sonam manipulated Raj by feeding him false promises of love and a shared future.
