1. The forbidden object
My mother found a strange object in my father’s box… Is this what I’ve always been afraid of?
Nothing had ever been reported, just my own observations of how he used his strange things. He looked strange as he held them – huddled and pale, almost lifeless – as if he was standing there just so the box could be opened.
2. The Forbidden Box
My father always kept this box, locked and tucked away in his old storage room. No one ever dared to look in it, not even his wife. But this time, curiosity overcame the fear she had always carried within.
3. Suspicious absence
She had searched his office the day before. There were no documents or money in his bag – only this mysterious object. The lack of documents worried her the most.
4. The Incomprehensible Object
The object was about a foot high, smooth and covered in intricate patterns. At the top were thin, articulated projections that resembled antennae. However, no one could determine what it was used for or what its purpose was.
5. The Strange Contact
When I – the son – picked up the object, I immediately felt something was different. Memories welled up within me, as confusing as they were foreign.
