Butternut Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon butternut flavoring (or butternut extract)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup (90g) chopped butternut (optional, for texture and flavor)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Dry ingredients:
    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugars:
    • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer or a whisk. Beat until the mixture is light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add egg and flavorings:
    • Beat in the egg until well combined.
