The secret is to make small changes: run short wash cycles with cold water. According to a recent study published in a specialized journal, during long wash cycles fabrics rub together and lose more color pigments.
Additionally, the warmer the water, the more the fibers swell, contributing to color loss and increased wear and tear on the garment.

1. Salt water makeup
Fill a bucket with cold water, adding ice if possible. Add a handful of salt and mix well.
Soak the garment in water for about 20 minutes, then rinse and leave to dry in a shaded and ventilated place.
