The city of Montreal was recently the scene of a tragic event, when a man was discovered lifeless in his car, completely buried under the snow.
The incident highlights the potential dangers of severe winter storms hitting the region.
The man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was found Tuesday morning after a 911 call led officers from the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) to the scene, located on Champagneur Avenue, at the intersection of Ball Street, in the Parc-Extension neighbourhood.
Upon arrival, rescuers removed the man from his vehicle and quickly transported him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said the victim’s body showed no signs of violence, suggesting that other factors contributed to the tragic death.
Initial hypotheses put forward by investigators point to accidental carbon monoxide poisoning, a well-known danger when using vehicles in confined or poorly ventilated environments, especially when stuck in the snow.
