Cloves are already well-known, although they are primarily utilized in sweets, particularly those with fruit. Banana and pumpkin sweets, for example, invariably include a tinge of clove.
However, it is used around the world to season far more than just sweets. Cloves can be used to flavor preserves, sauces (pure or tucked into an onion with a bay leaf), vegetables, cheeses, rice, and even meats.
