🌾 Flour is a food product obtained by grinding cereals or other products. In Italy, two widely used types are soft wheat flour and durum wheat flour. Soft wheat is from central-north regions, while durum wheat, native to the south, yields semolina.

Wheat grains have bran, germ, and endosperm. Bran holds vitamins, germ is removed for preservation, and endosperm contains protein and starch.
There are various flour types: 00, 0, type 1 and type 2, and whole wheat flour. The latter is rich in fiber, minerals, vitamin B, antioxidants, iron, and essential fats.
