A few months ago, I noticed a small raised bump on my skin — crusty, rough, and darker than the surrounding area. It looked kind of like a mole but had a rough, uneven texture that caught my attention. I brought it up to my dermatologist, and she decided to freeze it off using cryotherapy, a common in-office treatment that removes abnormal skin lesions with liquid nitrogen.

And this time, it’s larger, more raised, and still has that crusty appearance that makes me uneasy. My dermatologist is currently out of the office, and I’m honestly worried.
So, what’s going on — and what should I do?
