And the grave she guarded? It belonged to a lieutenant — a communications and demolition expert. Locals said he’d been buried following an accident just a month before.
Then everything clicked: she wasn’t a pet at all, but his operational partner. When the lieutenant passed away, she had returned to the place where she’d last seen him.
Most likely, her commander had carried out one final mission — perhaps concealing information or safeguarding something from enemy hands. And now, with him gone, she was left waiting for an order… that would never arrive.
