An incident was recorded and quickly shared online, showing an employee storing a detachable microfiber mop head within centimeters of a fresh box of fries.
The video, which was first shared on the Facebook group Delicate Bogan Hints, quickly became popular online.
The public’s responses to the video clip were mixed.
As others attempted to make light of the situation by making jokes such, “So which is where the flavour comes from,” others were horrified by the flagrant lack of consideration for hygiene. Saying, “That’s the most brainless issue I’ve found this year,” one reader vented their wrath.
This woman wants her certification for basic food safety and sanitation revoked!
In response to the event, McDonald’s Australia verified that management had met with the employee, but that she would still be employed there.
