1. Season the ribs with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
2. Place the seasoned ribs in the slow cooker.
3. In a bowl, mix the root beer and barbecue sauce together and pour over the ribs.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the ribs are tender and fully cooked.
5. Carefully remove the ribs from the slow cooker and place them on a baking sheet.
6. Brush some extra BBQ sauce over the ribs and broil them in the oven for about 5 minutes on each side to get a nice caramelized finish.
Variations & Tips
For a spicier kick, add some crushed red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce to the BBQ sauce mixture. For a smokier flavor, you might like to include a teaspoon of liquid smoke. If root beer isn’t your style, you can also try using cola or Dr. Pepper for a different sweet twist.
