An Unexpected Fix for Tough Stove Grease: Vaseline

How to Clean Your Stove with Petroleum Jelly

Using Vaseline to clean your stove is easy and yields great results. Here is a simple guide on how to do it:

Supplies Required:

  • Vaseline (petroleum jelly)
  • Microfiber cloth
  • Very fine steel wool
  • Gloves (optional but recommended)

Directions:

  1. Wear Gloves (Optional): If your skin is sensitive, it’s a good idea to wear gloves.
  2. Apply Vaseline: Put a small amount of Vaseline on a soft cloth. Remember, a little goes a long way.
  3. Rub the Surface: Rub the cloth with Vaseline over the surface of your stove. The Vaseline will help to soften and remove the grease stains.
  4. Use Fine Steel Wool: For tougher marks or stains, gently scrub the area with very fine steel wool. Be careful not to press too hard to avoid scratching the surface.
  5. Wipe Clean: Use a soft cloth to wipe away any remaining Vaseline and grease. You’ll notice the surface becomes clean and glossy.
  6. Repeat if Necessary: Repeat this process as many times as needed, especially for older or more stubborn stains.
