1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the pie crust and gently press it into a 9-inch quiche pan or pie dish. Trim any excess dough from the edges and prick the bottom of the crust with a fork to prevent air bubbles.
2. Pre-bake the crust for 8 minutes, then remove from the oven. This step is known as “blind baking” and helps avoid a soggy crust.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined. Stir in the cheese, along with any additional fillings you desire, such as the bacon, ham, spinach, and caramelized onion.
4. Pour the egg mixture into the pre-baked crust. Place the quiche in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the quiche is set in the center and the top is lightly golden.
5. Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve warm, or allow to cool completely if you prefer to serve your quiche at room temperature.
