Hooks have multiple uses. They can be used to store keys, clothes, umbrellas, and headphones.
However, you wouldn’t think they would be used for evil or immoral purposes, would you? Before hearing this, I didn’t know they were capable of accomplishing such a thing.
Some coat hooks in hotel rooms and public establishments are equipped with hidden cameras. Similar devices have been spotted in public places, including women’s restrooms and hotels.
Recently, three occurrences have been reported by Floridians. As the MCSO report states:
In the women’s restrooms, tiny cameras hidden in coat hooks were discovered attached to the walls in all three cases. On May 26, they were discovered at Anne’s Beach; on May 28, they were discovered in the women’s restroom at Harry Harris Park in Tavernier; and on May 31, they were discovered at the Circle K store at mile marker 99.8 on US Highway One.
In 2011, in a Kansas YMCA locker room, a woman dropped a camera attached to a hanger to the floor.
Investigators of the incident discovered that the underside of the hook was sticky.
Lt. Randy Reynolds of the Wichita Police Department’s Homicide Unit said, “The device is not something that would stand out.” “Anywhere could be a locker room for them.”
