Directions
Start by cleaning the plastic bunnies to remove any dust or dirt. This will help the paint adhere better.
Lay down a drop cloth or newspaper to protect your work surface.
Put on protective gloves to keep your hands clean.
Using white spray paint or acrylic paint, apply a base coat to the bunnies. Ensure even coverage and let it dry completely. You may need to apply a second coat for full opacity.
Once the base coat is dry, dip an old toothbrush or a small paintbrush into black acrylic paint.
Hold the brush over the bunny and flick the bristles to create a speckled effect. Practice on a piece of paper first to get the desired speckle size.
Allow the speckled paint to dry completely.
Optionally, apply a sealer spray to protect the paint and give the bunnies a finished look.
Display your speckled bunnies as desired.
Variations & Tips
To add a personal touch to your speckled bunnies, consider experimenting with different colors for the base coat or speckles. Pastel colors can create a softer, more whimsical look, while metallic paints can add a touch of glamour. You can also try using gold or silver leaf for a luxurious finish. For a more rustic feel, use a matte finish paint and distress the edges slightly with sandpaper. Additionally, you can embellish the bunnies with ribbons, small flowers, or other decorative elements to match your seasonal decor.
