Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the onions, salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally for about 8-10 minutes or until the onions soften.
Add the brown sugar and continue cooking for 15 to 20 minutes or until the onions are golden.
Pour in the wine to deglaze, scraping the sides and bottom of the pan. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes.
Transfer cooked onions to a mixing bowl. Add the remaining ingredients and stir until well combined.
Spread the mixture in a small 8-inch skillet or 2-cup (500 mL) baking dish and bake for about 20 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
Serve with sliced baguette or crackers.
