Stir in 1¼ cups of the shredded cheddar cheese, ensuring it’s well coated in the flour mixture. This helps it distribute evenly without sinking.
4. Combine wet ingredients:
In a separate bowl, mix the milk, beaten egg, melted butter, and honey until smooth.
5. Combine everything:
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture. Stir gently with a spatula or wooden spoon until just combined. Do not overmix — the batter will be thick.
6. Transfer to pan:
Spoon the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle the remaining ¼ cup of cheese on top.
7. Bake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
8. Cool & serve:
Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy warm or at room temperature.
