Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prep:

    • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

    • Line a 12×17-inch baking sheet with foil and lightly grease with non-stick spray for easy removal.

  2. Make the Dough:

    • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Assemble the Bars:

    • Reserve 1 ¾ cups of dough for the topping.

    • Press the remaining dough evenly into the prepared pan.

    • Spread both cans of cherry pie filling over the dough in an even layer.

    • Drop small spoonfuls of the reserved dough over the cherries (it will spread while baking).

  4. Bake & Cool:

    • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

    • Let the bars cool completely before glazing (this helps them set).

  5. Add the Glaze:

    • Whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.

    • Drizzle over the cooled bars in a zigzag pattern.

    • Slice into squares and serve!
