Layer Ingredients and Mix

Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).

In the bowl of a 4-quart heavy-duty electric stand mixer, add ingredients in the following order: flour, sugar, butter, milk, eggs, and vanilla.

Beat on low speed for 1 minute, stopping to scrape down the sides.

Increase to medium speed and beat for 2 more minutes.

Pour and Bake

Pour the batter into a greased and floured 10-inch (16-cup) tube pan. Smooth the top.

Bake at 325°F for 1 hour and 30 minutes, or until a long wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes.

Remove from pan and let cool completely on the wire rack (about 1 hour).
