Prepare the Pudding:
In a saucepan over medium heat, whisk together milk, heavy cream, sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolks. Cook while stirring until the mixture thickens (about 5 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
Layer the Dessert:
Pour a layer of pudding into a serving dish, then add sliced bananas. Repeat layering until all the pudding and bananas are used.
Add the Topping:
Drizzle caramel sauce over the top and sprinkle a pinch of salt for a balanced flavor.
Chill and Serve:
Let the pudding cool in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
