Ingredients:
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup crispy fried onions (like French’s)
- ¼ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- Freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the shredded cheddar, crispy onions, garlic powder, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Scoop heaping tablespoons of the mixture onto the baking sheet, spacing them out. Gently flatten each mound a bit.
- Bake for 6–8 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.
- Cool on the sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a paper towel to drain and crisp up fully.
Tips:
- Want a spicy kick? Add a pinch of cayenne.
- Store in an airtight container once completely cooled.
Note: These crispy onion cheddar chips are best enjoyed fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. For extra crispiness, you can reheat them in the oven for a few minutes before serving.
Enjoy!
