1. Prepare the Puff Pastry
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
Cut the puff pastry into smaller squares or rectangles, depending on your preference, using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
Place the pastry squares on the prepared baking sheet and brush them with the egg wash.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
2. Prepare the Cheesecake Filling
In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
Add the powdered sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and salt to the cream cheese, and beat until well combined and smooth.
3. Assemble the Cheesecake
Once the puff pastry squares have cooled, carefully slice each square in half horizontally to create a top and bottom layer.
Spread a generous amount of the cheesecake filling onto the bottom half of each puff pastry square.
Place the top half of the puff pastry square over the filling to create a sandwich.
4. Prepare the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth and well combined. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if needed.
5. Glaze the Cheesecake
Drizzle the glaze over the assembled cheesecake pastries using a spoon or pastry brush.
Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving.
6. Serve and Enjoy
Once the glaze has set, serve the Denmark King’s Hawaiian Cheesecake pastries on a platter and enjoy!
