Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a compulsive urge to move the legs, often accompanied by discomfort. Diabetics often suffer from RLS, the symptoms of which worsen at night.
Leg cramps at midnight:
Another nighttime warning sign of diabetes is leg cramps, especially at night. The resulting pain and discomfort can disrupt sleep. A combination of stretching exercises and appropriate medications can provide relief.
Sleep
apnea, or sleep apnea disorder, is another nighttime sign of high blood sugar. This condition is characterized by a disorder that causes irregular or shallow breathing during sleep.
Excessive night sweats:
Night sweats can be another warning sign of diabetes. Fluctuations in blood sugar levels can disrupt body temperature regulation and lead to excessive sweating during sleep. If you wake up night after night drenched in sweat, you need to check your blood sugar.
