The former DWTS pro was arrested on Friday, August 29 for alleged corporal injury to a spouse. It’s a felony charge, and it was issued after the police responded to a call about DV. He was later released after being held on a $25,000 bail.
The alleged attack was presumably on his wife, Nikki Garcia, who immediately questioned privacy while she and her family dealt with the private matter. The two share a four-year-old son Matteo, who is currently living with Nikki and her family.
What Has Artem Chigvintsev Been Arrested For?
Artem was booked under California Penal Code Section 273.5(a) PC. This “makes it illegal to injure a spouse, cohabitant or fellow parent in an act of domestic violence.” It is classed as DA or DV or corporal injury to a spouse.
