– 1 cup of sugar
– 1 cup of water
– 1 packet of dried or fresh thyme- Optionally, grated ginger root to enhance the effect
Preparation:
1. Place the sugar in a pot and cover it with water.
2. Add the thyme and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to thoroughly dissolve the sugar.
3. Remove the pot from the heat and add any optional ingredients like grated ginger root.
4. Mix thoroughly and let the mixture cool.
5. Strain the cooled syrup through a sieve or cheesecloth.
6. Transfer the resulting syrup to a dark bottle and store it in the refrigerator.
7. Serve 1 teaspoon of the syrup 3 to 4 times a day.
