Instructions:
Prepare the Potatoes:
Peel, wash, and cut potatoes into medium-sized cubes.
Cook in a saucepan of boiling water over medium heat for about 20 minutes or until tender. Drain.
Add cream and butter to the potatoes and mash until smooth.
Prepare the Leeks:
4. Cook sliced leeks in a separate saucepan with water for about 10 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
Cook the Eggs:
5. Boil eggs in salted water for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water, peel, and slice.
Assemble the Gratin:
6. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
7. Spread a layer of mashed potatoes evenly in a baking dish.
8. Add cooked leeks on top of the mashed potatoes.
9. Sprinkle grated cheese over the leeks.
10. Arrange sliced boiled eggs on top of the cheese.
Season and Bake:
11. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
12. Drizzle the remaining butter over the top.
13. Bake for 25-30 minutes until cheese is melted, bubbly, and edges turn golden brown.
Serve:
