I took the document to a lawyer, hoping for some clarity. The office was sterile, the kind of place where secrets came to light. “This is quite the find,” the lawyer mused, adjusting their glasses as they read through the papers. “Your grandmother was indeed involved in a business deal, but it seems to have been a very personal one.” They pointed to a clause, “This section here, it refers to a care arrangement, likely financial support for someone.” My heart sank as the reality began to set in. “So, what does this mean for us now?” I asked, dreading the answer. “It means,” they replied, “that whoever sent that text, they knew your grandmother’s passing would affect this agreement.”
