When experiencing a mosquito bite, it leads to itching and redness and swelling around the area. This is a result of the mosquito saliva triggered by histamine. Sadly, at some people, the mosquito bites cause more severe reactions, such as swelling and itching that lasts for weeks. This is known as “skeeter syndrome.”
Luckily, there are certain cures and methods that help reduce the itching and swelling. One of them, probably the most famous one that has been around for many years, is the method knows as a “hot spoon.”
This method consists of placing a spoon in hot water or hot coffee and then pressing the back of it directly on the bite.
This works because the bite is neutralized by the heat from the spoon. One needs to make sure the spoon is not extremely hot because it can cause slight skin burns.
