Former police officer advises wrapping car keys in aluminum foil

According to a former American Automobile Association (AAA) police officer, there is a method to prevent duplication of the car’s passcode: simply wrap the electronic key or remote in aluminum foil. The latter protects against fraud, even if it is not the most modern solution available, by creating a kind of barrier that isolates electromagnetic waves and thus prevents them from being intercepted and reproduced by cybercriminals. This practice is also used to protect credit cards to prevent their duplication.
