Grandma’s Christmas Candy | November 18, 2025

Christmas cookies tend to get most of the attention around the holidays, but there are some othe sweet treats you do not want to sleep on. For instance, this recipe for Grandma’s Christmas Candy! It’s a chewy nougat candy that is sure to win everyone over with the very first bite. We typically make it with red and green gumdrops for some festive flare, but dried fruits, nuts, or other candies also make for great mix-ins. While homemade candy often gets the reputation of being difficult, this recipe could not be easier. Let’s get into how it’s made

With just four ingredients and a few minutes of prep, you can whip up a batch of this candy that looks as impressive as it tastes. You’ll start out by combining the white chocolate chips, marshmallows, and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl. Stirring often, you’ll heat that mixture until it’s fully melted and a smooth and silky texture. At this point, you’ll let the nougat cool for a minute or two (so it doesn’t melt your candy!), then fold in the gumdrops or whatever goodies you’re including. Pour the mixture into a parchment-lined pan and pop it in the fridge to set for about 4 hours.

Once your candy has set, slice it into small pieces (I find bite-sized is best). These little squares are perfect for gifting, adding to a holiday tray, or popping into your mouth while wrapping presents. You can’t go wrong with a nostalgic treat like this one. Give the easy recipe a try this year and I’m sure it will become a regular in your holiday lineup. Happy holidays!
