Directions:
1. Prepare the Patty Mixture:
– In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Use your hands or a spoon to gently mix the ingredients together, being careful not to overwork the meat.
2. Form the Patties:
– Divide the seasoned meat into 4 equal portions. Gently shape each portion into a patty, pressing down in the center slightly to create an indentation (this will help prevent the patty from puffing up during cooking).
3. Cook the Patties:
– Heat a grill, griddle, or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may want to add a little oil to prevent sticking. Place the patties on the hot surface and cook for 4-5 minutes per side for medium doneness. Adjust cooking time based on your preference for doneness.
4. Toast the Buns:
– While the patties are cooking, slice the buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
5. Assemble the Burger:
– Once the patties are cooked, place a slice of cheese on top of each patty and let it melt slightly. Then, place each patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun. Add your preferred toppings: lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and condiments of choice.
6. Serve and Enjoy:
– Top with the other half of the bun and serve hot with a side of fries, chips, or a fresh salad.
