1. In a small bowl, mix the dry yeast with the sugar and warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
3. Mix everything together until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it doubles in size.
5. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Punch down the dough and divide it into equal-sized portions. Shape each portion into a ball and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
6. Cover the rolls and let them rise for another 30 minutes. Brush the tops with some milk or egg wash.
7. Bake the bread rolls in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
8. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
Tips:
– Make sure the water used for activating the yeast is not too hot as it can kill the yeast.
– You can customize the bread rolls by adding herbs, cheese, or seeds to the dough before shaping.
