Ingredients :
1/2 pound chopped pecans
1/2 pound chopped walnuts
2-3 tbsp. ground cinnamon
1 pound package of phyllo dough
1-1/2 cup butter, melted
2-1/2 cups of honey
1 C. vanilla
1 C. Grated lemon zest
Methods :
Butter 9×13 inch baking dish.
Place 2 phyllo sheets in the bottom of the prepared dish. Brushing with melt butter.
Sprinkle 2-3 tablespoons of mixed nuts on top. Repeat layers until all nuts, butter, and phyllo are used.
Finish with about 6 layers of phyllo on top. If you still have butter left over, brush it over the top layer.
Using a sharp knife, cut away all layers of baklava. Cut 3-4 slices lengthwise.
Then make diagonal cuts to create diamond shapes.
Bake in the oven heated to 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, until golden and crispy.
While the baklava is cooking, heat the honey in a saucepan until it is almost boiling. Stir in vanilla and lemon zest.
When the baklava is cooked, immediately pour the honey mixture on top.
Let cool totally in pan.
