Dental floss is an excellent way to remove plaque and residue embedded between the teeth. Use it in addition to brushing, carefully avoiding the gums.
7. GET REGULAR DESCALING
Once or twice a year, make an appointment with the dentist to have your teeth scaled. It removes tartar that does not come off when brushing and therefore brightens your smile.
8. CHANGE YOUR TOOTHBRUSH OFTEN
Over the days and weeks, the bristles of your toothbrush become damaged. In addition to retaining bacteria, it loses its effectiveness and therefore contributes to the accumulation of tartar on your teeth. To remedy this, remember to change your toothbrush every two or three months (at the most).
9. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR DIET
Certain foods such as coffee or tea tend to yellow teeth. Avoid them as much as possible or brush your teeth after consuming them.
10. ADAPT YOUR COMPLEXION TO YOUR TEETH
To make your teeth appear whiter, you have to create an optical effect! A complexion that is a little too pale will tend to considerably accentuate yellow teeth while a “healthy glow” effect will attenuate them. In the same vein, be careful with lipsticks that are too dark.
11. USE PATCHES
Sold in pharmacies or supermarkets, dental patches are generally used as a two-week treatment, morning and evening, on clean teeth. Whitening effect guaranteed.
12. EAT WHITENING FOODS
To display a flawless smile, favor foods like apple or mint that have “cleaning” and therefore whitening properties. On the other hand, avoid acidic foods that weaken the enamel and those that tend to quickly stain teeth like red wine or red fruits. And if you consume them, remember to brush your teeth right after to limit the damage.
