How to Preserve Parsley and Keep It Fresh for a Year: The Chefs’ Method (Page 3 ) | November 1, 2025

The first step is   to wash the parsley in water  . During this step, remove any leaves and twigs that appear dry or damaged. After washing the parsley, spread it out on several sheets of paper towels to dry.

Fill the jar halfway with water, preferably glass, as it preserves food better. At this point, as if you were cutting flowers, dip   the parsley stems into   the jar. Then, cover the tops with a plastic bag, the same kind used for freezing food. Secure the plastic bag with a rubber band, which you’ll then wrap around the top of the jar.

Using scissors, cut the two outer sides of the bag to allow air to circulate. At this point, you can place the glass jar of parsley in the refrigerator. Ideally, it should be placed in the bottle holder on the inside of the refrigerator door.
