Our sweat, as well as dust and saliva, ends up on pillows, creating an ideal environment for bacteria to develop. This is why it is important to wash and disinfect pillows at least once a month, and below we explain how to do it.
Baking soda and vinegar. Mix two equal parts of baking soda and white vinegar, and dilute them in water. In addition to cleaning and disinfecting pillows, thanks to the acids in vinegar and the properties of baking soda, this method is useful for whitening them.
Hot water and lemon. One of the most effective natural disinfectants, lemon allows us to thoroughly sanitize pillows. Pour the juice of 6 lemons into 2.5 liters of water. In addition to eliminating bacteria, this method gives pillows a pleasant aroma.
Baking soda and tea tree oil. This excellent natural oil helps disinfect, while baking soda cleans thoroughly. Pour a few drops of oil on a cloth, then add baking soda and rub on the pillow. No need to rinse.
Hydrogen peroxide. Whitens, cleans and disinfects: hydrogen peroxide is an excellent ally for cleaning pillows. Spray hydrogen peroxide directly on the pillows to take advantage of its properties.
