Jen has always been a flea market junkie, a passion she inherited from summers spent with her grandmother hunting for “preloved jewels.” Despite her husband Sam’s constant mocking of her finds, she never stopped scouring flea markets for treasures, no matter how much he called it “junk. ”One Saturday, Jen visited a street fair and stumbled upon a small porcelain egg at a vendor’s booth. The man claimed it was a bargain at $25, but Jen bargained him down to $10. Sam was unimpressed when she brought it home, calling it worthless, especially after he found the words “Made in Hong Kong” stamped on the bottom. But Jen wasn’t deterred. When she shook the egg, she noticed something inside and insisted there was more to it.
