THE BRIDE GRATEFUL TO HER FATHER-IN-LAW

On a hot summer day, the lawns of a lavish estate were hosting preparations for a highly anticipated wedding.
FATHER-IN-LAW LEFT BEHIND DAUGHTER’S WEDDING
Away from the hustle and bustle, a man watched, emotions racing across his face. Although he wasn’t married to the bride’s mother, he had raised her as his own daughter for over a decade. However, his stepdaughter’s choice to let her biological father walk her down the aisle
tore at his heart. As he watched the chairs being lined up and the ribbons tied, every detail he had funded seemed to remind him of his supporting role.
As that crucial day dawned, he made a bold decision. He wanted to mark the day, to show his importance not only as a financial supporter but also as an indispensable member of the family . As the first notes of music began to float and the guests began to arrive, he made his way to the podium for speeches, his heart pounding.
A VERY MOVING SPEECH
The guests were taking their seats, their murmurs creating a festive atmosphere. Holding his speech steady, the man stood when his turn came, his gaze meeting his daughter-in-law’s. “ Dear friends and family ,” he began, his voice trembling slightly. “ I want to speak to you today not only as a father-in-law but as a man who has watched this young woman grow up. ” He continued, “ I have been there through thick and thin, I have funded dreams and desires, from education to this beautiful marriage. But today, I must admit, my heart is heavy. ” A silence fell over the assembly. “ For today, I realize that some of the roles we take on are lent to us, not given. ”
