“Found weird ‘eggs’ in my garage… should I freak out? 😳”

I was poking around in the garage today and stumbled on a pile of what looked like eggs — hard, deformed, oddly placed. My first thought: “What in the world?”

Then I remembered a trick from chicken-keepers — these might actually be decoy eggs (aka fake/ceramic “eggs”) used in hen coops. They’re placed in nesting boxes to tell hens where to lay, deter egg-eating, or train new layers.

So yeah — chances are they weren’t laid by some secret nest in your garage. They were likely put there (on purpose) to signal something.

Still: finding them randomly = weird.

  • Are they hollow, heavy or light? Real eggs feel different.
