Removal and Disposal of Tick Eggs
If you discover tick eggs in your backyard, it is advisable to consult a pest control expert or a veterinarian for proper identification and guidance on removal. Handling tick eggs improperly can lead to spreading the infestation. For individual ticks that have attached to the skin, use fine-tipped tweezers to grasp the tick as close to the skin’s surface as possible and pull upward with steady, even pressure. Avoid jerking or twisting the tick, as this can cause the mouthparts to break off and remain in the skin. After removal, dispose of the tick by placing it in alcohol, sealing it in a bag, or flushing it down the toilet.
