Prepare Almonds: Grind almonds into a fine meal if using whole nuts.
Whip Egg Whites: Beat egg whites with ¼ cup sugar until stiff peaks form.
Make Batter: Whisk yolks with ½ cup sugar. Stir in chocolate, vanilla, and almonds. Fold in egg whites.
Bake: Pour into a greased 9-inch springform pan. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes.
