J.Lo filed for divorce from Affleck on August 20, two years to the day after they celebrated their second, more opulent wedding in Georgia.
The renowned couple, also known as ‘Bennifer’, started dating in the early 2000s before splitting up owing to ‘excessive media attention’.
The two appeared to be meant to be when they reconciled two decades later, much to the surprise of fans.
They married in Las Vegas in 2022, followed by their Georgia ceremony later that year.
After the couple exchanged vows, J.Lo sent a touching note in her newsletter to commemorate their union.
She wrote: “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.”
Many people were heartbroken by the high-profile split, which came after months of rumours.
Finally, J.Lo cited ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the grounds for her upcoming divorce, which, according to Slater + Gordon, is the legal equivalent of ‘people don’t get along anymore.’
